Data Engineer – French Speaker

About the role

Natixis in Portugal is looking for a detail‑oriented Data Engineer who is fluent in French to join the BPCE SI (Solutions Informatiques) team. The role focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and delivering actionable insights that support the bank’s corporate and investment activities.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret complex data sets to provide actionable business insights.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather data requirements and deliver analytical support.
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using SQL, Stambia and Oracle Exadata.
• Assist in creating data models and structures for reporting and analysis.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for data processes and analytics methodologies.
• Handle functional incidents and contribute to technical developments and system enhancements.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in both French and English.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Fluent French (C1) and proficient English (B2).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Required skills

• SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• ETL tools such as Stambia (or similar).
• Oracle Exadata database (preferred).
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (optional).
• Power BI for data visualization and reporting (preferred).
