People Operations Specialist

About the role

Air Apps, a Lisbon-founded company building an AI-powered personal and entrepreneurial resource planner, is looking for a People Operations Specialist to sit at the heart of its HR and recruiting operations. The role covers recruitment, onboarding, documentation and employee support, keeping the workplace compliant, organized and people-first. It is a fully onsite position in Lisbon, working closely with cross-functional teams in person; relocation support is available.

Key responsibilities

• Day-to-day HR tasks: payroll coordination, benefits administration and employee data management
• Clarify HR policies and answer employee questions accurately and empathetically
• Support internal HR initiatives, people programs and team communications
• Maintain HR documentation, including internal processes, SOPs and templates
• Recruitment support: job postings, candidate sourcing, interview scheduling, tracking progress with hiring managers and improving the candidate experience
• Onboarding: coordinate logistics and welcome new hires

Required profile

• At least 2 years of recruiting experience, including sourcing, interviewing and negotiating offers, preferably in a consultancy or fast-paced setting
• Experience supporting HR operations such as payroll, benefits and employee services
• Familiarity with the Portuguese labor law framework is a significant plus
• Excellent written and spoken English; Portuguese is a bonus

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems, especially Ashby
• Proficiency with LinkedIn tools, especially LinkedIn Recruiter, and other sourcing platforms
• Strong attention to detail, organization and ability to manage multiple priorities
