Dev / DevOps Engineer (AWS Serverless, Nearshore)

About the role

Devoteam is looking for a proactive Dev / DevOps Engineer to join its nearshore team in Portugal, supporting AWS serverless cloud applications for a major aerospace customer. The role balances operational support and software development, with L2 support on a rotating schedule (no weekends).

Key responsibilities

• Provide reliable L2 operational support on a rotating schedule, resolving incidents, troubleshooting user issues and fulfilling service requests.
• Automate recurring operational tasks, scripts and workflows to reduce toil and support ticket volume.
• Contribute to software development and bug fixes in the build backlog using Go or Angular/TypeScript.
• Maintain, read and edit Infrastructure as Code (IaC) configurations with Terraform and scripting tools (Python/Bash).
• Collaborate with Senior Tech Leads and French build teams during knowledge transfer, reverse shadowing and support handovers.
• Take part in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor application health and cloud metrics to spot performance bottlenecks and potential failures early.

Required profile

• 2 to 5+ years of professional experience in software development, cloud operations or DevOps environments.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Willingness to take part in a structured L2 support rotation.

Required skills

• Solid hands-on experience in Go OR Angular / TypeScript.
• Practical knowledge of AWS managed services such as Lambda, S3, CloudWatch and API Gateway.
• Familiarity with Terraform and IaC, and scripting with Python or Bash.
• Git, CI/CD tools and RESTful APIs.
