Tax Accountant

About the role

Driven Advisors is seeking a Tax Accountant to join its finance team in Guaynabo. The role focuses on preparing, reviewing, and filing Puerto Rico and U.S. tax returns while ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file Puerto Rico and United States corporate income tax returns.
• File Puerto Rico informative returns (Forms 480 series) through SURI.
• File Municipal License Tax Returns and CRIM tax returns, including estimated payments.
• Prepare applications, supporting documentation, and annual reports for Puerto Rico tax incentives.
• Manage tax accounts and filings through SURI.
• Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations and maintain General Ledger accuracy.
• Prepare journal entries, supporting workpapers, and generate financial reports using QuickBooks.
• Respond to tax notices from Hacienda, the IRS, municipalities, and CRIM.
• Assist with tax planning, compliance projects, and audit support.

Required profile

• BBA in Accounting.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in general accounting and tax preparation.
• Hands‑on experience with the full accounting cycle.
• Experience with Puerto Rico and United States tax regulations.

Required skills

• QuickBooks.
• SURI tax filing system.
