Senior HR Specialist

About the role

The Senior HR Specialist will join Bain's Lisbon office to provide high‑quality HR services for the local team. You will act as the primary point of contact on employee relations, HR operations, mobility and immigration matters, supporting both consultants and staff across the office.

Key responsibilities

• Manage employee‑relations issues for the Lisbon office, advising on employment law, disciplinary actions, performance management and absence management.
• Conduct monthly personnel file audits in collaboration with the broader HR team.
• Oversee local HR operations including administration, onboarding, mobility, immigration and delivery of local training programmes.
• Coordinate visa processes for new joiners, internal transfers and extensions, serving as the main contact for visa‑related queries.
• Provide guidance to the Staffing and Professional Development (PD) teams on staffing, PD matters and proximity to consulting staff.
• Support ad‑hoc HR projects, policy implementation and data‑protection procedures.
• Prepare documentation for monthly office HR meetings and service‑award communications.
• Step in for the HR Manager during absences to ensure continuity of HR services.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in HR, preferably within a professional services or consulting environment.
• Strong knowledge of Portuguese employment legislation and company policies.
• Proven ability to handle employee‑relations cases, disciplinary processes and performance‑management discussions.
• Experience managing mobility, immigration and visa processes for international staff.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Portuguese, with a collaborative mindset.
