Senior HR / People Operations Specialist

About the role

As a Senior HR/People Operations Specialist you will be the first point of contact for employees, People Partners and external providers, ensuring smooth HR operations for our teams in Portugal and the UK. Based in Lisbon with a hybrid work model, you will support payroll, employee lifecycle and compliance while driving process optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support on contracts, benefits and employee lifecycle administration.
• Coordinate end‑to‑end payroll with an external provider and resolve payroll queries.
• Manage onboarding, off‑boarding and contract administration, including documentation and references.
• Maintain accurate employee data in Workday and ensure compliance with Portuguese labour law.
• Partner with Legal, HRBP, Payroll and Recruitment to implement global initiatives locally.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities for People Operations processes.

Required profile

• 5+ years in HR Administration, People Operations or Shared Services, preferably in a fast‑growing international environment.
• Degree in Human Resources, Economics, Psychology, Social Sciences, Pedagogy or related field.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English, both written and spoken.
• Proactive mindset with strong ownership, attention to detail and continuous‑improvement drive.

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of Portuguese labour law (UK law a plus).
• Hands‑on experience with HRIS/HRMS systems; Workday experience highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes and coordination with external providers.
