Senior Director, Operational Strategy - Oncology

About the role

The Senior Director of Operational Strategy will lead the development of competitive, flexible strategies for oncology award opportunities. This role combines deep oncology expertise with operational capabilities to meet client needs throughout pre‑award activities and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and create strategic approaches for oncology and related indications, leveraging operational expertise and technology.
• Serve as the lead oncology strategist on award opportunities and support other oncology operational strategists.
• Co‑lead bid defense preparations with Business Development and participate in client meetings alongside senior operational staff.
• Build and maintain relationships with key client decision‑makers to drive repeat business.
• Collaborate with global functions such as Project Management, Clinical Operations, Data Management, Statistics, Regulatory and Safety.
• Support functional teams to enhance client relations and ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Participate in conferences, generate marketing content (webinars, white papers) as part of the group’s marketing strategy.

Required profile

• Degree in life sciences or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Extensive clinical research experience within a CRO, with strong oncology focus.
• Senior‑level experience contributing to project oversight and delivery.
• Proven track record in developing and strengthening customer relationships.
• Previous experience in an oncology strategy role is preferred.
