Pastry Cook

About the role

Four Seasons Lisbon is looking for a Pastry Cook to join its kitchen team. The cook prepares pastry items to guest orders, following recipe cards and production, portion and presentation standards, and supports the kitchen during breakfast, lunch and dinner service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare pastry items according to guest orders, following recipe cards and production, portion and presentation standards.
• Complete mise en place and set up the station for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner service.
• Start food items prepared ahead of time, without preparing beyond estimated needs.
• Operate, maintain and properly clean kitchen equipment such as deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat top grill.
• Date and rotate food containers, keep perishables at proper temperatures, check pars for shift use, and return unused items to storage.
• Assist in correcting food cost problems and control food waste, loss and usage per policy.

Required profile

• Experience in kitchen/culinary operations.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Required authorization to work in an EU country.
