Outpatient Registered Nurse – RN

About the role

The Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) works within the hemodialysis health‑care team to deliver high‑quality patient care in an outpatient setting. This position supports FMCNA’s mission and quality programs while ensuring safe and effective chronic hemodialysis therapy.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise Patient Care Technicians, LVNs/LPNs, and Dialysis Assistants in delivering hemodialysis treatment.
• Assess daily patient care needs, assign tasks, and monitor staff techniques for compliance with policies and regulations.
• Provide patient and family education on End‑Stage Renal Disease, vascular access, dialysis therapy, diet, fluid, and medication compliance.
• Implement treatment prescriptions, including sodium modeling and ultrafiltration modeling, and adjust therapy based on patient response.
• Document initial, annual, and ongoing nursing assessments and communicate issues to the Team Leader or physician.
• Participate in staff training, orientation, meetings, and quality improvement activities.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in outpatient hemodialysis or renal care.
• Ability to supervise and delegate tasks to multidisciplinary staff.
• Strong knowledge of ESRD patient education and treatment protocols.
