HR Business Partner – Generalist (Portugal)

About the role

We are looking for an HR Business Partner Generalist to launch and develop the Human Resources function for a new transport and logistics business unit in Portugal. Reporting locally to the Country Manager and functionally to an international HR leader, you will own the full employee life‑cycle and help shape the people strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Support the growth and structuring of the Portuguese operation.
• Act as HR Business Partner to managers and the leadership team.
• Manage recruitment processes, onboarding and talent acquisition.
• Coordinate training plans and development initiatives.
• Monitor HR KPIs, prepare management reports and support performance management.
• Administer HR operations, coordinate payroll with external providers and ensure compliance with Portuguese labour legislation and collective agreements.
• Drive change‑management and organisational‑development projects.
• Serve as the main liaison between local operations and international HR stakeholders.
• Handle employee‑relations matters, insurance administration and integration of employees into the new structure.

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resources Management, Management or a related field.
• 3‑8 years of experience in a generalist HR role.
• Strong exposure to payroll, recruitment, employee relations and HR operations.
• Experience with HR metrics, reporting and knowledge of Portuguese labour law.
• Advanced English; Spanish is a plus.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder‑management and a proactive, hands‑on attitude.
