General Technician – Kitchen & Refrigeration Systems Maintenance

About the role

Join Costaterra Golf & Ocean Club, a luxury resort in Comporta, Portugal, as a General Technician responsible for keeping kitchen and refrigeration systems running smoothly. You will work on a variety of commercial appliances and cooling equipment, ensuring minimal downtime for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on refrigeration units such as counters, freezers, cold rooms, condensers, and evaporators.
• Maintain and repair commercial kitchen appliances including ovens, combi ovens, fryers, dishwashers, and extraction systems.
• Identify and resolve electrical faults on 230/400 V circuits, replace components safely.
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance and document all interventions.
• Manage spare parts inventory, coordinate procurement, and ensure stock levels.
• Support and supervise external contractors during complex or regulated interventions.
• Provide rapid response to breakdowns to minimise operational disruption.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in commercial kitchens, hospitality, industrial refrigeration, or facility maintenance.
• Proven ability to diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance in high‑demand environments.
• Awareness of electrical safety, HACCP food‑safety principles, and fire‑safety basics.

Required skills

• Refrigeration system diagnostics and repair.
• Commercial kitchen equipment maintenance.
• Electrical troubleshooting on 230/400 V circuits.
• Mechanical maintenance of motors, pumps, fans, belts, bearings and seals.
• Interpretation of OEM manuals, schematics and technical documentation.
• Spare parts management and procurement coordination.
