Farm Supervisor

About the role

The Farm Supervisor will lead daily farm operations at Discovery Land Company’s Costa Terra site near Melides – Comporta, Portugal. You will manage staff, oversee crop and livestock health, and ensure compliance with safety and bio‑security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute planting, harvesting, land preparation and crop rotation schedules.
• Maintain and adjust irrigation systems and farm equipment.
• Supervise general farmhands and specialized workers, providing training and guidance.
• Monitor animal welfare, enforce bio‑security protocols, and uphold health and safety standards.
• Keep accurate records of productivity, safety, and compliance.
• Coordinate supplies, consumables, and maintenance programs for all farm assets.
• Report equipment damage promptly and attend meetings or training as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in agricultural operations and staff supervision.
• Strong knowledge of crop and livestock management practices.
• Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions.
• Good communication skills in English.
