HR Specialist – Build a New MRO Facility in Portugal

About the role

We are establishing a new MRO facility near Porto and need an HR Specialist to lead recruitment, employee relations and HR projects as we build the operation from the ground up. You will ensure a smooth employee experience from onboarding through development while supporting compliance and benefits administration.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment and selection, including job ads, CV screening, phone interviews and coordination of interview panels.
• Guide candidates throughout the hiring process and support employer branding initiatives.
• Design and maintain internal and external communication plans to ensure consistent messaging.
• Develop and continuously improve onboarding programmes for new hires.
• Assist payroll by processing overtime, night hours and other payments.
• Oversee time‑keeping, attendance and absence management (overtime, hour bank, holidays, sick leave).

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Management or a related field.
• Proven experience in recruitment, talent acquisition or HR functions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills with attention to detail.
• Proactive problem‑solving mindset and ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Legal right to live and work in Portugal.
