Business Developer – Renewable Energy (Portugal)

About the role

Q ENERGY is seeking a Business Developer to drive the growth of photovoltaic, battery storage (BESS) and wind projects in Portugal. Based in Lisbon, you will work closely with cross‑functional teams to expand our renewable portfolio and shape the local energy landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage alliances with local partners such as land agents, environmental and engineering consultants.
• Act as the primary liaison with government officers and politicians, building strong relationships.
• Supervise developers and co‑developers throughout the permitting process.
• Participate in node meetings and promote actions needed for project advancement.
• Support the Commercial Unit in preparing NTP IC documentation.
• Update project assumptions, permitting schedules, budgets and cash‑flow as required.
• Manage guarantee issuance, deposits and returns linked to development and permitting.
• Lead improvements in project scoring for capacity tenders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Development or a related field.
• More than 7 years of experience in the energy sector, specifically in renewable‑energy business development.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
• Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers and external contractors.
• Excellent organizational skills and the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese; additional languages are a plus.
