General Accountant

About the role

The General Accountant will maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support the organization’s financial operations. This role is essential for recording transactions, preparing reconciliations, and assisting with month‑end and year‑end close processes.

Key responsibilities

• Record, classify, and maintain financial transactions in the accounting system.
• Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Perform monthly bank, credit‑card, and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing activities.
• Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting analyses as requested.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Monitor transactions for accuracy and compliance with policies and standards.
• Assist in budget preparation, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Support internal and external audits by providing schedules and documentation.
• Help with tax filings and regulatory reporting where applicable.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and strengthen internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve accounting issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (preferred).
