HR Director

About the role

The Sani/Ikos Group is seeking an experienced HR Director to lead all human‑resources functions for its Algarve resort. You will be responsible for aligning HR strategy with business objectives, ensuring compliance with Portuguese labour legislation, and fostering a positive employee experience in a fast‑growing hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the full employee lifecycle – recruitment, onboarding, payroll, learning & development, and off‑boarding.
• Ensure accurate, timely payroll administration and full compliance with Portuguese labour laws.
• Act as the primary liaison for national and local union negotiations, maintaining constructive relationships and adhering to collective bargaining agreements.
• Provide guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.
• Build, mentor, and manage a high‑performing HR team, driving talent mapping, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Partner strategically with senior leadership, the General Manager, and department heads to support workforce planning and organisational effectiveness.
• Lead HR projects, process optimisation, and implementation of HR policies and technology solutions.

Required profile

• Proven senior HR leadership experience, preferably within hospitality or resort operations.
• Deep knowledge of Portuguese labour legislation and collective bargaining practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage union relationships and employee‑relations matters.
• Strong strategic thinking and business partnership capabilities.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, and team‑development skills.
