System Monitoring Technician (French Speaker)

About the role

VIRTHIO is seeking a System Monitoring Technician who is fluent in French to join its IT consulting team. The role focuses on ensuring the continuous availability and performance of client infrastructures across multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor IT systems, networks, servers, and applications using Nagios.
• Respond to alerts and incidents in real time, performing initial troubleshooting and escalation as needed.
• Document incidents, interventions, and outcomes in the ITSM ticketing system.
• Produce regular reports on system health, incident trends, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and support teams to maintain service quality.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of monitored environments and propose improvements to monitoring processes.

Required profile

• Proficiency with Linux, Windows and IBM i5 operating systems.
• Strong command of English and French (both written and spoken).
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple alerts simultaneously and follow detailed procedures.
• Team‑oriented, proactive and service‑focused mindset.

Required skills

• Shell scripting.
• SQL language.
• Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking.
• Hands‑on experience with Nagios monitoring tool.
