People and Culture Assistant (HR Assistant)

About the role
Under the supervision of the Human Resources Specialist, the People and Culture Assistant provides administrative and operational support for a wide range of HR functions at UNICEF's office in Cotonou. The role ensures timely and accurate delivery of HR services in line with UNICEF policies.
Key responsibilities
- Support business partnering activities and HR advisory services.
- Process entitlements and benefits for local staff.
- Assist in recruitment, placement, and onboarding processes.
- Contribute to organization design, job classification, and workforce planning.
- Support learning, capacity development, and training coordination.
- Provide general office and clerical support for HR operations.
Required profile
- Secondary education (or equivalent) in a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, learning & development, job classification, organization design, HR operations, or clerical work.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in French and intermediate English.
- Desirable: knowledge of another UN language, familiarity with the Beninese context, experience in development or humanitarian settings.
