Mechanical Designer

About the role

The Mechanical Designer will turn product concepts into feasible, high-quality mechanical solutions for i-charging’s electric-vehicle charging hardware. Working closely with development teams, you will ensure designs meet functional, manufacturing and regulatory requirements while supporting the company’s ambition to become a global e-mobility reference.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed 3-D models and 2-D drawings using CAD software, ensuring manufacturability and compliance with design specifications.
• Perform structural analyses to validate strength and durability of components.
• Define critical dimensions and tolerances for inspection and quality control.
• Coordinate component layout with cross-functional development teams.
• Iterate designs to eliminate weaknesses, reduce production time and improve performance.
• Identify and qualify mechanical suppliers, leading their validation as i-charging approved vendors.
• Support prototyping activities, evaluate test results and refine designs accordingly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience in mechanical design, preferably in product development.
• Strong spatial awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and spoken English (minimum B2).
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (or equivalent 3-D CAD) proficiency.
• Knowledge of 3-D CAD design software and Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
• Understanding of forming and molding manufacturing processes.
• Capability to conduct structural analysis.
