Java Software Engineer – Backend Services

About the role

Astrelya, an IT consulting firm based in Geneva, is seeking a Java Software Engineer to join its international team in Lisbon. You will work on backend systems for retail and luxury environments, building scalable services that power core platform capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java/Spring Boot microservices.
• Build and manage REST APIs and system integrations.
• Improve performance, scalability, and reliability of backend services.
• Collaborate with DevOps, QA, architects, and product teams.
• Participate in Agile development cycles and CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Fluent English; French is a plus.
• Self‑motivated, organized, and rigorous work style.
