Desktop Systems Administrator I

About the role

Five9 is seeking a Desktop Systems Administrator I to provide desktop support for its Porto office and remote users across Europe. The role works closely with end‑users and IT teams to ensure smooth operation of the corporate desktop environment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the escalation point for desktop and laptop issues for a 1,000+ user enterprise.
• Respond to Service Desk tickets, walk‑ups, and incidents following internal procedures.
• Administer enterprise‑level device management solutions and support Apple, Microsoft, VPN, and mobile devices.
• Perform installations, configurations, upgrades, repairs, and troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, workstations, printers, copiers and fax machines.
• Act as on‑site “smart hands” for corporate IT infrastructure tasks such as TelCo closet troubleshooting, equipment racking, and network routing.
• Document hardware lifecycle, develop SOPs, and assist with general IT office maintenance and AV support.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• Willingness to provide off‑hours support, including occasional evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with global IT teams.

Required skills

• Apple and Microsoft operating systems.
• VPN configuration and troubleshooting.
• Hardware and software troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
• Network troubleshooting basics.
• Experience with enterprise device management tools.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and Service Desk processes.
