Data Scientist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join Aubay Portugal’s technology consultancy team. You will work on cutting‑edge AI projects, designing and deploying advanced models that drive digital transformation for clients across banking, insurance, automotive and other strategic sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and fine‑tune large language models and generative AI applications such as chatbots and copilots.
• Build and optimise deep‑learning architectures (CNNs, RNNs, LSTMs, Transformers) and multimodal models.
• Implement NLP pipelines, recommender systems and, where relevant, reinforcement‑learning solutions.
• Deploy, monitor and maintain machine‑learning models in production using MLOps tools and cloud services.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate AI solutions into client information systems.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist.
• Strong expertise in Python and its data‑science ecosystem.
• Hands‑on experience with PySpark/Spark MLlib and major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Proven track record with NLP, LLMs and generative AI, including transformers, fine‑tuning and prompt engineering.
