Training & Development Leader

About the role

The Training & Development Leader drives the learning strategy for the site, overseeing the full lifecycle of training programs—from analysis and design to delivery and evaluation. This role ensures that all training initiatives align with the organization’s culture and people‑development goals, enhancing both individual and team performance.

Key responsibilities

• Guide production, technical services, and quality teams on operator certification and cross‑training processes.
• Maintain compliance and accuracy of on‑the‑job training materials and certification documentation.
• Conduct needs‑assessment studies to identify training gaps and develop targeted programs.
• Collaborate with HR, Operations, Quality, EHS, and Continuous Improvement to create a holistic learning strategy.
• Select and develop training aids such as handbooks, visual aids, and tutorials.
• Design, deliver, and measure the effectiveness of internal programs including new‑employee orientation, job certifications, critical SKA, and leadership development.
• Blend eLearning and instructor‑led methods to produce engaging curricula.
• Develop evaluation tools, set clear objectives, and continuously improve training content.
• Partner with subject‑matter experts, provide strategic learning guidance, and represent training on enterprise projects.
• Manage external training vendor relationships and oversee the Learning Management System.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading training and development initiatives in an industrial or production environment.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and influence stakeholders.
• Commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and company leadership attributes.

Required skills

• Learning Management System (LMS) administration.
• eLearning development and authoring.
• Instructional design and curriculum development.
