Team Lead, IT Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

The Team Lead, IT Quality Assurance Engineer will guide a high‑performing QA group while remaining hands‑on with testing and automation. This player‑coach role ensures strategic direction and day‑to‑day execution of quality activities across multiple projects, aligning delivery with Tungsten Automation’s technology roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of QA engineers, balancing leadership with hands‑on test case development, execution and automation scripting.
• Design and execute test strategies for functional, integration, regression and performance testing.
• Drive adoption and enhancement of test automation frameworks and reusable assets (UI, API, performance).
• Define and enforce QA standards, processes and governance across delivery teams.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis for defects and recurring quality issues.
• Partner with IT delivery teams and business stakeholders to ensure test coverage and alignment with requirements.
• Leverage AI testing solutions to elevate QA practice.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and participate in sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement and release planning.
• Report testing status, risks and quality metrics on time.
• Foster a culture of quality, accountability and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading and mentoring QA engineers in a technology‑focused environment.
• Hands‑on expertise in test planning, execution and automation.
• Strong background in functional, integration, regression and performance testing.
• Experience with AI‑driven testing tools and modern testing approaches (shift‑left, risk‑based, exploratory).
• Ability to work closely with delivery teams and business stakeholders.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and sprint‑based agile processes.
