Share Plans Taxation Expert

About the role

You will be the global authority on the tax treatment of employee share programmes, ensuring compliant and efficient structures across a complex international landscape. Working closely with Compensation & Benefits, Tax, Legal, Finance and external advisors, you will translate regulatory requirements into practical solutions that support new plan designs, M&A activities and other strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the subject‑matter expert for tax implications of equity‑based compensation, including long‑term incentive plans and share purchase programmes.
• Monitor and interpret evolving tax legislation in relevant jurisdictions and assess impact on share plans.
• Identify, evaluate and mitigate tax risks related to mobility, cross‑border participation, withholding and permanent establishment.
• Develop and maintain tax‑compliant frameworks for equity compensation, ensuring adherence to income tax, social security and capital gains rules.
• Prepare tax‑related disclosures, filings and decision papers for senior stakeholders.
• Lead tax‑focused components of global compensation projects such as plan redesigns, legislative changes and M&A transactions.
• Drive process improvements and automation in tax reporting and compliance workflows.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and authorities to ensure consistent, high‑quality service delivery.

Required profile

• University degree in Tax, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Law or a comparable field; professional tax certification is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience in international taxation, preferably with a focus on equity compensation within a multinational, consultancy or advisory environment.
• Deep understanding of global tax principles affecting employee share plans.
