Senior Node.js Backend Developer (Remote, Europe)

About the role

The company is a fast‑growing global consumer technology firm that creates real‑time digital products used by millions worldwide. As a Senior Backend Developer you will own server‑side architecture, build scalable services and data infrastructure, and collaborate with DevOps and product teams to support real‑time user interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and Express.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define and implement new features.
• Optimize services for performance, scalability and reliability.
• Implement security and data‑protection best practices.
• Design and manage data storage solutions with MongoDB, Redis and other databases.
• Create reusable backend components and libraries.
• Contribute to testing strategies, including unit and end‑to‑end testing.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Backend Developer.
• Strong experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, efficient code.
• Solid understanding of TDD, SOLID principles and software design practices.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Experience monitoring and optimizing system performance.
• English proficiency at least B2 level.
