Senior Java Software Engineer (Hybrid – Lisbon)

About the role

We are seeking a senior Java Software Engineer to join KCS IT’s consulting team. The role is primarily remote, with occasional visits (2‑3 times per month) to the client’s office in Lisbon.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java applications using Java 11+ and Spring Boot.
• Build and evolve microservices architectures on cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
• Implement automated testing and ensure code quality.
• Collaborate with Scrum teams, using Jira for task management.
• Apply design patterns such as Factory and Singleton to solve architectural challenges.
• Work with relational databases for data persistence.

Required profile

• 5‑6 years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java 11 or higher and Spring Boot.
• Experience with AWS or Azure cloud services.
• Solid background in microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with Scrum methodology and Jira.
• Academic background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Fluent English (C1) and Portuguese.
