Senior HR Specialist

About the role

As a Senior HR Specialist at Baxter, you will partner with leaders and employees to shape a positive employee experience, ensure compliance with labor regulations, and drive workforce effectiveness through data‑driven HR solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead employee‑relations investigations, recommend corrective actions and risk‑mitigation strategies.
• Partner with managers on attendance, performance, disciplinary actions and separations while ensuring policy and legal compliance.
• Analyze HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, retention and engagement surveys to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and monitor action plans with business leaders to address workforce challenges and meet organizational goals.
• Coordinate performance‑management processes including goal setting, reviews, calibrations and improvement plans.
• Support talent review and succession planning by identifying talent risks and development opportunities.
• Conduct job evaluations and advise on compensation adjustments, promotions and workforce planning.
• Ensure consistent application of HR policies and compliance with Puerto Rico and Federal regulations.
• Lead HR projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives, influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
• Manage departmental budgets and monitor HR expenditures.
• Provide administrative support to the HR department as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
• Significant experience in employee relations, investigations and HR compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Puerto Rico and U.S. labor laws.
• Proven ability to analyze HR data and translate insights into action.
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Experience leading HR projects and managing budgets.
