RAMS Engineer – Railway Safety Systems

About the role

Siemens Mobility is seeking a RAMS Engineer to ensure the safety and reliability of railway control, command and signalling systems. You will act as the technical safety authority, reviewing solutions for compliance with regulations and supporting project teams throughout the lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Review technical solutions for safety compliance and regulatory adherence.
• Coordinate, execute and review Specific Application Safety and RAM activities across the project.
• Lead Verification & Validation activities to demonstrate compliance with project requirements.
• Manage assessment bodies such as ISAs, AsBos, NoBos, DeBos, clients and external authorities.
• Plan and monitor RAMS and V&V schedules to deliver on time and within budget.

Required profile

• University degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of RAMS experience on railway safety‑related systems.
• Proficiency with safety analysis techniques (PHA, IHA, SHA, FTA, FMECA).
• Knowledge of functional safety standards (EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, EN 50716) and European railway regulations (TSIs, CSM‑RA).
• Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
• Advanced Portuguese and English; Spanish is a plus.
