Senior Advanced Systems Engineer – Propulsion Controls

About the role

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Senior Advanced Systems Engineer to lead the full lifecycle of propulsion control system development for turbofan, turboshaft, and APU programs. The role provides technical leadership across architecture, requirements, verification, and certification, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safety‑critical aerospace solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead requirements development, decomposition, and validation for engine control systems, ensuring traceability from user‑level needs to component specifications.
• Partner with Controls leadership to execute software, hardware, and control system development, including law development and interface control documentation.
• Develop and maintain system verification plans, test plans, and certification strategies; support test execution and qualification campaigns.
• Provide technical guidance to cross‑functional teams, drive technical reviews, and align configuration management.
• Support program planning, risk management, and present engineering status to leadership.

Required profile

• U.S. person as defined by export control regulations.
• 7+ years of systems engineering experience on safety‑critical aerospace systems.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems, Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with turbofan/turboshaft or APU engine programs and airworthiness certification processes.
