Maintenance Manager – AML7 Drug Substance (Non-Standard Shift)

About the role

Amgen is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the AML7 Drug Substance manufacturing plant on a non‑standard shift schedule. You will ensure process reliability, drive continuous improvement, and manage a multi‑skilled maintenance workforce in a regulated biotech environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the maintenance vision, strategy and goals to achieve best‑in‑class reliability.
• Lead, coach and prioritize work for a team of Maintenance Technicians, handling training, performance management and quality of work.
• Oversee corrective, preventive and calibration programs, ensuring compliance with cGMP and plant schedules.
• Plan and schedule maintenance activities in partnership with manufacturing and support functions, using CMMS to track work, spare parts and performance trends.
• Manage change controls, CAPA, validation support, deviation investigations and quality events.
• Drive Lean/Six Sigma improvement projects to enhance equipment uptime and maintenance efficiency.
• Support budget management, logistics during plant slowdowns and shutdowns, and maintain a safe work environment.

Required profile

• Relevant degree (high school + 12 years, associate + 10 years, bachelor + 5 years, master + 3 years, or doctorate) in engineering or a related field.
• Proven managerial experience leading people, projects or programs in a regulated manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, compliance regulations, reliability practices and predictive/preventive maintenance.
• Experience with validation processes and cGMP documentation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Lean Six Sigma methodology (Green Belt, Black Belt preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.
• Familiarity with cGMP documentation and validation activities.
