Payroll Specialist – Restaurant Industry

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Payroll Specialist to join a leading restaurant brand in Puerto Rico. You will ensure accurate, timely payroll processing while supporting the broader HR and accounting teams.

Key responsibilities

• Process weekly, bi‑weekly, final pay, bonuses, car allowances, and special checks.
• Review payroll data, calculations, deductions, and adjustments for accuracy.
• Validate timekeeping reports and resolve discrepancies with restaurant managers.
• Enter and update payroll documents, including new hires, terminations, leaves, and direct deposits.
• Prepare and submit payroll‑related reports such as ASUME, vacation balances, and payroll totals.
• Handle employment verification requests from employees, banks, and government agencies.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide timely information.
• Support HR with payroll‑related tasks and other departmental duties as needed.

Required profile

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of payroll experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with HR, Accounting, and restaurant management.
