About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to serve as the subject‑matter expert on the reliability of mechanical systems and components on our wind turbine fleet. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, improving performance and shaping maintenance strategies through risk‑informed guidance and engineering leadership.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess the condition of mechanical systems and provide expert guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee drivetrain components within partial‑scope contracts and define actions to return or maintain assets in service.
  • Support end‑of‑contract inspections, classify defects and develop risk‑informed failure timelines.
  • Collaborate with the Predictive Maintenance team to investigate, escalate and resolve vibration and lubrication alerts.
  • Partner with the Inspections & Repairs team to plan and execute borescope inspections of gearboxes and translate findings into corrective actions.
  • Evaluate cracks, defects, bolts, fasteners and connections for damage, corrosion, fatigue or preload loss, and define inspection and repair requirements.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA/FMECA) activities, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct fleet‑wide component reliability assessments and propose strategies to reduce failure risk.

Required profile

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience with mechanical systems reliability in wind turbine or renewable energy assets.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to lead reliability and risk‑informed projects.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with cross‑functional teams and external clients.
