Mechanical Engineer – Mechanical Design (Lisbon)

About the role

ALTEN Portugal is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join its Life Sciences projects in Lisbon. You will work in a GMP environment, focusing on the design, review and implementation of piping, valves and process equipment for pharmaceutical clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and monitor mechanical engineering projects related to piping systems, valves, process equipment and industrial utilities.
• Prepare technical specifications, calculations and drawings that meet internal, regulatory and safety standards.
• Produce and maintain documentation such as P&IDs, bills of materials and technical reports.
• Support supplier selection, monitor manufacturing and assembly phases, and evaluate technical proposals.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (process, automation, maintenance, quality, production) to ensure successful project delivery.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2–6 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in industrial or pharmaceutical settings.
• Hands‑on experience with piping systems, valves and process equipment.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model (on‑site and remote) from Lisbon.
