Lab Engineer Internship – Heat Pump Development (Metrology)

About the role

Join Bosch's Heat Pump Development Lab in Aveiro as a Lab Engineer Intern focused on metrology. You will support calibration, uncertainty analysis, and testing processes for heat‑pump equipment, contributing to the creation of reliable, energy‑efficient solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform calibration, uncertainty calculations and round‑robin tests on laboratory equipment.
• Assist with witness testing, coordinating with certification institutes.
• Prepare technical documentation such as reports, procedures, work instructions and best‑practice guides.
• Test heat pumps and related components, validating equipment and system interfaces.
• Support maintenance, improvements and the build‑up of test rigs and lab infrastructure.

Required profile

• Academic degree in Mechanical, Physics, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in metrology and laboratory processes.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams across multiple sites.
• Problem‑solving mindset, results‑oriented and proactive attitude.
