Industry 4.0 & IIoT Manufacturing Digitalization Internship

About the role

This extracurricular internship gives you the chance to join Bosch's Industry 4.0 team, supporting the Home Comfort division worldwide. You will work on cutting‑edge IIoT and digital manufacturing projects, collaborating with cross‑functional experts in Aveiro and other sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and study new IIoT technologies (wearables, digital displays) for industrial applications.
• Create proof‑of‑concept projects and define integration standards for IIoT devices.
• Design interfaces from industrial equipment to MES and IIoT platforms.
• Develop intelligent manufacturing systems that leverage machine learning.
• Build automation control systems and interfaces for test equipment and production machines.
• Design, validate and test new technological solutions in the Factory of the Future laboratory.

Required profile

• Academic background in Engineering (Informatics, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics) or Computer Science.
• Understanding of IIoT technologies and interfaces such as MQTT, OPC‑UA, Kafka.
• Knowledge of industrial automation topics (industrial networks, PLC programming, SCADA).
• Fluent communication in English.
• Curiosity about new technological trends and a proactive, team‑oriented attitude.
• Willingness to work in a cross‑site project team environment.
