R&D and Testing Engineer Internship – Heat Pump Water Heaters

About the role

Join Bosch Aveiro’s Home Comfort division as an R&D and Testing Engineer intern, supporting the development of innovative heat‑pump water heater products. You will work on validation, testing, and industrialisation activities while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and industrialisation of new heat‑pump water heater products.
• Analyse legislation, standards and technical requirements applicable to the products.
• Define validation strategies, test plans and engineering test methods.
• Execute laboratory testing, measurements and performance evaluations.
• Prepare clear technical reports and communicate results to stakeholders.
• Participate in troubleshooting, brainstorming and root‑cause analysis activities.
• Support engineering change‑management processes during product development.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Product Management and Manufacturing teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering or a related technical field.
• Strong interest in thermal systems, refrigeration or sustainable technologies.
• Innovative mindset with willingness to challenge and improve existing solutions.
• Good communication skills in Portuguese and English.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and technical topics simultaneously.
• Autonomous, ownership‑driven and problem‑solving attitude.
