About the role
We are looking for an HR Business Partner to take full ownership of people matters, serving as a trusted advisor to leadership and the primary point of contact for employees across both office‑based and field‑based teams. The position blends strategic HR responsibilities (approximately 80 %) with essential administrative support (approximately 20 %).
Key responsibilities
- Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, onboarding and integration of permanent, seasonal and field workers.
- Ensure compliance with Portuguese and Spanish labour legislation, contracts, working‑time rules and health‑and‑safety obligations.
- Coordinate payroll, social security, leave and benefits in partnership with external providers.
- Implement performance‑management cycles, appraisals and training & development programmes.
- Act as first point of contact for employee relations, grievances, absence management and wellbeing initiatives.
- Support leadership with workforce planning, organisational growth and culture development.
- Own occupational health & safety processes, including risk assessments, PPE, incident reporting and H&S procedures for office and field sites.
- Drive people‑related certification requirements (e.g., GlobalG.A.P.) by maintaining training records and compliance evidence.
- Administer HR tools and platforms, safeguarding data quality across onboarding, time‑and‑attendance and competency matrices.
- Provide day‑to‑day office administration, document management and audit‑ready filing systems.
- Streamline and automate internal administrative processes to support scaling operations.
- Manage office supplies and relationships with service providers to ensure a seamless workplace.
Required profile
- Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or a related field.
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner; experience in agriculture, food or seasonal‑workforce sectors is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Portuguese and/or Spanish labour law.
- Fluent in Portuguese; Spanish and English are strong advantages.
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
