HR Business Partner

About the role

Inspired Education, a global group of premium private schools, is looking for a dynamic, versatile and detail-oriented HR Business Partner (HRBP) based in Lisbon. The role acts as a trusted partner to school leaders, focusing on the transition phase between recruitment and the employee's first day, with onboarding and global mobility as key areas. It also covers employee relations, performance management and day-to-day HR operations.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with school leaders and managers on day-to-day people matters, and support employee relations in line with internal policies and Portuguese employment legislation.
• Assist managers with performance management, including probation monitoring, absence management and employee development.
• Support organizational changes, internal mobility and contractual changes, and communicate HR policies and procedures across schools.
• Act as the bridge between recruitment and the start date: issue and validate job offers and employment contracts, and coordinate relocation and visa processes for international candidates with external legal counsel.
• Coordinate end-to-end onboarding and integration for each school, and validate background checks, criminal records and Safer Recruitment documentation.
• Ensure tools, system access and documentation are ready for the employee's first day.

Required profile

• Minimum 3-5 years in HR Generalist, HRBP or HR Operations roles, balancing employee relations with high-volume onboarding.
• Good foundational knowledge of Portuguese Labor Law; experience with external suppliers or legal counsel is a plus.
• Experience in a school, university or academic HR setting is highly valued; understanding school calendar peaks is a plus.
• Native or fluent Portuguese and professional English (mandatory for international candidate liaison).
• Strong relationship-building, empathy, data discretion and ability to handle competing priorities.

Required skills

• Practical experience with core HRIS systems, with a strong preference for SAP SuccessFactors.
