Housekeeping Director – Luxury Hotel

About the role

Four Seasons Lisbon is seeking a dynamic Director of Housekeeping to lead the housekeeping and laundry operations of its iconic luxury hotel. Reporting to the Director of Rooms, the role ensures guest rooms, public areas and employee spaces meet the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, recruit, train, schedule and evaluate the Housekeeping team, including disciplinary actions as needed.
• Develop and implement comprehensive cleaning and preventive‑maintenance programmes for furniture, fixtures and equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections, uphold stringent cleanliness standards and coordinate with external contractors for timely service delivery.
• Handle guest interactions professionally, addressing complaints, special requests and coordinating housekeeping requirements.
• Monitor departmental expenditures – labour, uniforms, linen, cleaning supplies and contracted services – to meet financial targets.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, perform periodic inventories and oversee the Laundry Department.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in housekeeping management within a luxury hotel environment.
• Strong commitment to service excellence and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Excellent organizational and financial monitoring skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external service providers.
