House Attendant (Housekeeping Runner)

About the role

The House Attendant (also known as a Housekeeping Runner) supports the overall cleanliness and guest experience across the hotel. Working closely with the Housekeeping team, this role ensures public areas, guest rooms, and equipment are maintained to Highgate Hotels' high standards.

Key responsibilities

• Buff marble floors daily according to hotel standards.
• Shampoo carpets and furniture in public areas as required.
• Assist guests with luggage handling in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Manage lost‑and‑found items following hotel procedures.
• Deliver items to guest rooms, such as express checkout paperwork and newspapers.
• Perform light cleaning of guest rooms when needed.
• Maintain hotel equipment in proper working order and store it correctly.
• Complete special projects assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.
• Support emergency procedures and ensure overall guest satisfaction.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality experience preferred.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 100 lb occasionally, 50 lb frequently, and 20 lb continuously.
• Capability to stand for the entire shift.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with guests and staff.

Required skills

• Knowledge of floor‑buffing, carpet‑shampooing, and furniture‑cleaning techniques.
• Familiarity with luggage handling and lost‑and‑found processes.
