Hotel Engineer / Handyman

About the role

The Engineer Level 1 will ensure the hotel’s facilities operate smoothly and safely, minimizing inconvenience for guests and staff. This hands‑on position combines technical maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems with general handyman duties in a vibrant resort environment.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and maintain hotel air‑conditioning units, including filter changes, coil cleaning, and motor replacement.
• Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical equipment and record readings.
• Test cooling towers, swimming pools and spas, and keep maintenance logs.
• Replace and program televisions, light switches, receptacles, bulbs, fixtures and electronic lock systems.
• Carry out furniture, pump, sheet‑rock, wall‑covering and paint repairs.
• Execute plumbing tasks such as unclogging drains, repairing copper pipe, changing washers and fittings.
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams, trace water lines, and troubleshoot kitchen equipment.
• Ensure all work complies with local, state and federal codes.
