Finance & Accounting Team Leader (BPO) – Porto

About the role

We are seeking a Finance & Accounting Team Leader for a fast‑growing BPO provider in Porto. The role will lead a multicultural finance team, overseeing accounts payable, receivable, general ledger and month‑end closing while ensuring high‑quality delivery for an international client.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and motivate a diverse finance & accounting team to achieve operational excellence.
• Oversee daily transactional activities, monitor KPIs and resolve complex finance queries.
• Drive process improvement and standardisation across all financial operations.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and the client, ensuring SLA compliance.
• Prepare, review and deliver financial reports, analyses and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Act as the primary escalation point for finance and accounting issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of finance/accounting experience in a BPO, shared service centre or multinational environment.
• Proven team leadership or people‑management experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and best‑practice finance processes.
• Excellent analytical ability with high attention to detail.
• Fluent English; additional European languages a plus.
• Proactive, results‑driven and able to manage multiple deadlines.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with finance ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
