Engineering Manager - Infrastructure

About the role

This position leads a high‑impact infrastructure team that builds the foundation for faster, more reliable software delivery. Based in Portugal, you will guide a remote group of engineers, shaping internal platforms, CI/CD systems, and automation capabilities that support large‑scale engineering operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a remote infrastructure engineering team, fostering autonomy and continuous improvement.
• Define and execute strategies for CI/CD platforms, artifact distribution, and infrastructure capabilities.
• Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual work and create a zero‑toil environment.
• Promote AI‑driven engineering practices for dependency management, incident resolution, cloud optimization, and developer support.
• Own the evolution of internal infrastructure platforms as products, ensuring seamless developer experience.
• Collaborate with engineering and product stakeholders to translate technical needs into roadmaps.
• Review technical architecture decisions for scalability, security, and long‑term alignment.
• Support improvements to cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, infrastructure‑as‑code, and CI/CD workflows.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading infrastructure or platform engineering teams, preferably in remote settings.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to balance technical depth and people management.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
