Doctorate Researcher

About the role

The Doctorate Researcher will join the Energy Systems group to lead cutting‑edge R&D projects focused on power electronics and grid flexibility for the energy transition. You will work in a multicultural, collaborative environment and contribute to high‑impact scientific publications and international conferences.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute R&D projects, including preparation of project proposals and applications.
• Manage and mentor junior researchers, fostering a productive research team.
• Produce scientific outputs for international journals, conferences and outreach activities.
• Develop hardware and software solutions for ultra‑fast electric‑vehicle charging integration, PHIL test platforms and digital twins of electrical systems.
• Design and control power‑electronic converters for PEM electrolyzer integration and frequency‑control services (FCR, aFRR).
• Conduct stability studies of power networks with high renewable penetration and green‑hydrogen production.

Required profile

• PhD in Sustainable Energy Systems (or closely related field).
• Limited post‑doctoral experience or no scientific record beyond the PhD, eligible for a junior researcher category.
• At least two publications in Q1‑ranked international journals.
