Global Indirect Spends Procurement Manager

About the role

The Global Indirect Spends Procurement Manager is responsible for organizing and optimizing a worldwide indirect procurement spend of over $160M. The role requires an entrepreneurial mindset to drive commercial value, total cost of ownership reductions and supply risk management across regional and local operations. You will lead the strategic harmonisation and consolidation of the supplier base while establishing standardised processes and framework agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute global and regional category strategies for utilities, contractors, MRO and other indirect spend categories.
• Monitor energy markets, prepare hedge strategies and manage related financial risks.
• Assess, monitor and mitigate operational, financial and supply‑chain risks within the indirect vendor base.
• Reduce supplier fragmentation, harmonise vendors and establish preferred‑supplier framework agreements to maximise volume leverage.
• Drive Total Cost of Ownership initiatives and report KPI performance through dashboards.
• Make autonomous decisions on regional category strategies and consultative decisions on global framework agreements.

Required profile

• 8+ years of progressive procurement experience, specifically in indirect categories such as utilities, contractors and MRO.
• Proven experience in an industrial or heavy‑asset environment collaborating with plant managers and operations directors.
• Strong stakeholder‑management skills with the ability to influence without formal authority.
• Data‑driven mindset with experience interpreting complex spend data exceeding $160M.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel 10‑15% of the time.

Required skills

• Hands‑on proficiency with procurement software (e.g., JD Edwards, Zycus, Power BI, Microsoft Office).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Power Query and pivot tables.
• Spend analytics capabilities: data extraction, cleansing and classification of large indirect spend datasets.
• Commercial negotiation expertise, including master service agreements and framework contracts.
• Energy market analysis and hedging knowledge.
