District Manager – Retail Operations

About the role

The District Manager will lead a portfolio of retail stores across multiple brands in Portugal. Acting as the primary link between store teams and headquarters, you will ensure the consistent execution of commercial strategy, operational standards, and premium customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop Store Managers to meet sales, profitability, productivity, and KPI targets.
• Analyze store performance data and turn insights into actionable improvement plans.
• Conduct regular store visits to assess execution quality, operational standards, and provide leadership coaching.
• Drive performance improvement initiatives in under‑performing stores until sustainable results are achieved.
• Ensure brand standards, marketing campaigns, and visual merchandising are consistently applied.
• Oversee new store openings and support recruitment and onboarding of store talent.
• Serve as the communication bridge between stores and headquarters, aligning on strategy and priorities.
• Collaborate with HR, Health & Safety, and Asset Protection to maintain compliance and operational integrity.
• Monitor customer experience metrics and implement initiatives to enhance service quality.

Required profile

• Proven experience in multi‑store or district/area management within retail or a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong track record of delivering commercial results and improving operational performance.
• Excellent leadership and coaching abilities to develop Store Managers and teams.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret KPIs and make data‑driven decisions.
• Comfortable managing complexity, ambiguity, and a high operational pace across geographically dispersed teams.
• Strong communication, influence, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively (80%+), including overnight stays and flights.
• Fluent in English and German (mandatory) and resident within the operational area.
