Design Engineer – Piping Design (Autodesk Inventor & Plant 3D)

About the role

We are looking for a Design Engineer to support and review piping design projects for our clients in Portugal. The role focuses on creating and reviewing technical drawings, isometrics, P&IDs and 3D models of piping systems and supports using Autodesk Inventor and Plant 3D.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review detailed isometric drawings for piping systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Interpret and validate technical and assembly drawings, identifying components, dimensions and tolerances.
• Design and analyse Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) to ensure clear process flows and equipment integration.
• Create 3D models of piping systems and structural supports with Autodesk Inventor and Plant 3D, optimizing routing and performing clash detection.
• Generate comprehensive pipe plant layouts, including equipment placement, piping networks and utility systems.
• Define technical specifications for materials and construction methods, adhering to pharmaceutical/GMP standards and safety regulations.
• Compile detailed Material Take‑Off (MTO) and Bill of Materials (BOM) using Inventor and Plant 3D databases.
• Maintain and update Plant 3D databases, ensuring data integrity for material lists, revisions and as‑built documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in piping design and review.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical or GMP‑related design standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
