Design Automation Engineer II

About the role

Cencora is seeking a motivated Design Automation Engineer II to develop and implement small‑scale automated equipment and systems. The role focuses on PLC programming, vision system integration, and robotic automation to enhance manufacturing processes while ensuring safety and quality compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and apply CAD engineering methods to solve technical problems.
• Design, program, and troubleshoot PLCs (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley).
• Assist in integrating vision systems (Cognex, Keyence) and robotics (FANUC, ABB).
• Create CAD models, wiring schematics, and utility programs.
• Prepare design specifications, analyses, and recommendations for approval.
• Evaluate material, equipment, and vendor capabilities as needed.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Basic to intermediate experience with PLC programming and controls.
• Familiarity with vision systems and robotic platforms.
• Proficiency in CAD software and understanding of electrical wiring.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across functions.
