Data Engineer – AWS & Big Data Platform

About the role

You will drive innovation by exploring and implementing the latest AWS and big‑data technologies to uncover hidden opportunities, enable new capabilities, and build integrations for the SIXT Data Shop. You will collaborate cross‑functionally with Data Engineers, BI Analysts, and Data Scientists to architect optimal solutions for diverse analytical use cases.

Key responsibilities

• Explore and implement cutting‑edge AWS and big‑data technologies for the SIXT Data Shop.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, BI Analysts and Data Scientists to design solutions for dashboards, ad‑hoc analytics, data‑as‑a‑product and machine‑learning use cases.
• Contribute to the Data Platform vision and roadmap with innovative ideas and technical expertise.
• Maintain data integrity and uphold the highest standards of data protection when handling sensitive customer data.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related field and at least 3 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer.
• Proven experience designing scalable data models (dimensional modelling, star/snowflake schemas, Kimball‑style methodologies) and building end‑to‑end ELT pipelines.
